Maretha [Bubbles] has been running Paddagang restaurant for the past 2 years. Maretha has always believed that the flagship of tourism in Tulbagh should be run by locals who had a passion for food, a gift for hospitality and who loved this part of the world. Born and bred in the heart of Tulbagh, surrounded by the majestic Witzenberg, obiqua and Winterhoek mountains,Maretha fits the bill perfectly. as she started working for paddagang 19 years ago as a trainee Chef and after she finished college, she gathered experience by working for other restaurants and eventually returned to Paddagang and took over as wine sales manager for the Paddagang Vignerons for eight years . In 2008 Maretha took on the mammoth task of running this legendary business and are still doing so today.
The Manager
Clyde Gerard joined Paddagang in October 2010. Born and raised in Namibia, Clyde found his passion for the Restaurant industry from an early age, being actively involved in his family's restaurant for many years.
After studying Advertising and Graphic design, he travelled Europe for three years working in restaurants and cocktail bartendering. On returning to South Africa he pursued his passion and began his career in Restaurant Management.
Clyde now has 7 years Management experience in some of Cape Towns leading restaurants like Murumba' restaurant.
